There are many things that I did not do well on my analytical essay, based on Maroo of the Winter Caves, but there are also many things that I did do well on. One thing that I did do well on is that I found good quotes from my source that were good for support. Now, one thing that I did not do well on is that every time I made a topic sentence, I had to think of one that tied in with my thesis statement, and I tried but when I tried it still was not quite right. Another thing that I did not do as well on is that I need to elaborate more, and I need to be more specific when I explain my paragraphs. When I write analytical essays I need to work on and practice the thing I did not do very well on, but things I did do well on I need to remember so that my next analytical essay will be better then my first one and it will get me a better grade.

In my Maroo of the Winter Caves essay, I think I had good qualities along with negative qualities. One of the positive qualities I had was that I chose outstanding examples. One of them was when Maroo chose to leave Otak on the White Mountain to save her the rest of her family. This got me a higher grade, but one of the weaknesses of my essay was that I had a number of vague words in my essay, like in the following sentence:.. “instead, Maroo chose to save the more important ones in her group..” In that sentence, I was trying to say the most important people in her group, but instead I used a broad word like “ones” which lowered my grade. Another negative quality that I need to improve on is my thesis statement. In my analytical essay, I used more than one sentence for my thesis statement. This also lowered my grade. If I improve on these negative qualities, I might receive a perfect grade.

The last analytical essay I did was a complete disaster and when I saw my grade I was determined to ace the next one. Well now it has come and I am ready for it. when my teacher told me to find two things I could work on next time I immediately saw two things. The first thing I saw was that my punctuation was terrible. The second thing I saw was that I had organization. But now those skills will be mastered and I will pass this next analytical essay.
